About me
I am a CELTA-qualified English teacher based in London, working towards the Cambridge Delta. I teach teenagers and adults from A1 to C1: one-to-one, in groups, inside companies and online.
In Hungary I taught at an English language school and ran corporate groups and one-to-one lessons for staff at E.ON, Strabag, Ganz Electric, Apcom, Konecta and Caffé Service. In London I taught international students at Kings London, and I now teach ESOL in prison education. Teaching where nothing can be assumed sharpens everything else: you start from where the student actually is, not where a textbook says they should be.
Before teaching I spent five years on stage as a singer at the Budapest Operetta Theatre, and years guiding international groups and working in business travel. All of it turns up in lessons, from pronunciation and presentation coaching to the emails and contracts business students bring.

Four ways of working, all of them one-to-one or in small groups, and all of them adjusted to your level and your deadline.
English exam preparation
Focused preparation for school-leaving and language exams, including the Hungarian érettségi at B1 and B2 and the main international English exams. We work through the format, the timing, and the skills each paper tests.
Business English
For individuals and for groups inside a company. We work on the English your job actually asks of you, using material from your own industry rather than a general course book.
Negotiation and presentation coaching
One-to-one work with business people preparing for a specific event: a negotiation, a presentation, a conference panel, or an interview in English.

What to expect from your first lesson
The first lesson is mostly listening on my side. Here is what happens in it, what I am looking for, and what you get at the end.
Common questions
Where do lessons take place?
In person in London, or online from anywhere. Online lessons use the same material and the same structure as in-person ones, and most students who start online continue that way.
Do you teach in Hungarian as well as English?
Yes. Lessons run in English as far as your level allows, and Hungarian is available when an explanation lands faster in your first language. Complete beginners usually start in a mixture of the two.
Who do you teach?
Adults and secondary school students, at every level from complete beginner to advanced. That includes students preparing for the Hungarian English érettségi, professionals working in English, and people who have moved to England and want everyday English to stop being an effort.
How quickly do you reply to an enquiry?
Within two days, usually sooner. Every message goes to my own inbox and I answer it myself.
What happens in the first lesson?
The first lesson is partly an assessment. I listen to you speak, look at a piece of your writing, and we agree what to work on first. You leave with an honest view of your level and of how long your goal is likely to take.
